Hey! How was your Friday? I got myself a new ID card made today - it was going to expire in a few weeks and did not want to wait until the last minute. It came out good - no surprise since I did my hair and even wore makeup to work.
I went out to lunch today with a friend from pottery class. I got to meet her husband, daughter, son in law and grandson (he is 2, super cute!) It was a very nice change from eating at home every day - I rarely get the chance to go out and I had good company.
At work I sent out a nasty-gram email because my boss is unhappy with the training that has been conducted for driving. So, the email was to warn them to get their act together because we are going to start doing surprise inspections and failing it will not be good.
I also went and got a copy of my dental record because I am going Monday to start working on my VA disability claim. I was talking to mom about that and we were talking about the time I was hit in the face with a metal pole and it cracked my teeth - so then we figured I should make a dental claim just in case something crazy happens in the future. I have to make a list of everything that has ever went wrong or bothered me since I have been in the Army. That is going to be one long list! I have been in for quite a while and since my surgery there has been quite a lot wrong with me. Hopefully that means I will get more disability % hehe.
I finally made it over to the health food store today in between bouts of feeling ill. I got some goodies!! I got these two new products that I have never tired:
On the not-food side I got some Lavender Essential Oil:
And Arnica Gel:
I read that Arnica Gel and/or cream works to reduce inflammation, paint, tenderness, swelling, etc. Since I have all of those in one part or another of my leg, I figure it was worth a shot. The lady promised me that it was not comparable to icy hot (I asked her lol). I used it when I got home because my leg was hurting so much I could hardly walk. Anyways, it didn't smell or anything, and my leg felt better rather quickly - I also took medicine when I got home so I am not sure if the gel or the medicine was responsible for the improvement, but I will keep you guys posted.
Since I was feeling bad by the time I got home I did not do much besides sit on the couch and watch some tv. After about an hour or two I finally felt well enough to play with my neocolors:
Did you know that March is National Nutrition Month? It is...
I am considering doing a Eat Right With Color post - its a National Nutrition Month blog thing. So, perhaps you will see that one day soon.
Oh yes, I wanted to tell you guys about non-chocolate chocolate! I know that doesn't make much sense, right? Have you heard of the company Enjoy Life? They make lots of different products, but everything is free from the top eight food allergens that affect most people. So, these products are one of the ones that fit with the no wheat/gluten, dairy and eggs thing I am doing! This is rare because most gluten free products contain eggs or milk, and chocolate has milk or some derivative of milk. Anyways... so far I have had cookies from this company and this candy bar:
I was somewhat scared to eat this candy bar at first - I mean come on, its free from all the good stuff! But, it was GREAT - so great that I got some more at the store today!! Not that I need to eat lots of chocolate but sometimes you need some chocolate and you don't want to have to run to the other side of town to get 1 candy bar. These are the cookies that I tried:
They were good - very soft and moist. I don't recall ever having Sinckerdoodle Cookies before so I have nothing to compare them to but to me they tasted sort of like Ginger Snap Cookies. I got the chocolate chip ones at the store like two visits ago but I have not yet opened them to try them out. A warning about the cookies is that they will dry out if you leave them in an open package too long. So, just stick them in a zip lock bag and they will stay moist.
Ok friends, its getting close to my bed time! "See" you tomorrow.
